Jane
Crebbin-Bailey and John Harrington formed HCB Associates as
a partnership in 1997.
HCB is a full service spa consultancy ( see client list below
) who also provide expert courses and workshops in international
spa management and operations that enable participants both
from the hospitality and leisure industries and service sectors,
such as banking and manufacturing, to understand the dynamics
of the rapidly developing spa business. Apart from the UK these
courses have also been held by HCB in South Africa, Hong Kong
and Australia.
Jane
Crebbin-Bailey
Jane Crebbin-Bailey is
a leading educationalist, writer and speaker on Spa Therapy
and Practise. She is a past chairman of The British Association
of Beauty Therapy; served as a director of the International
Spa Association (Europe) responsible for Standards and
Practise and as a board member of The ISPA Education Foundation
in the US.
Jane works
as a partner in International Spa Consultants, HCB Associates.
She is also a part time lecturer at The University of
Derby, School of Hospitality, Leisure and Tourism. Jane
is a member of the HABIA (Hairdressing & Beauty Industry
Authority) working party responsible for the new UK vocational
standards in Spa and is currently developing a Foundation
Degree in Spa for BCUC (Buckinghamshire & Chilterns
University Colleges).

John
Harrington
Following a career as a civil engineer in the Middle
East, John acquired a day spa business in London's Mayfair
district in 1979. Today this operates as The Ragdale Clinic. |
John
was approached to head up a leading French thalassotherapy
laboratory's UK operation in 1989.
In this capacity he was involved in the early development
of spas on board cruise ships, including the QE2, and
worked with many of the leading destination and day
spas in the UK and throughout Europe.
A
renowned speaker and writer on spa operations, spa travel
and tourism John also contributes a regular monthly
column to leading UK spa journal.
